Christophe Delmarcelle joins Dear Krzewinski & Willez (“DKW”)

We are pleased to announce that Christophe Delmarcelle joined the law firm Dear Krzewinski & Willez (“DKW”) on 2 January 2018 as co-head of the employment team, together with Laurent Dear.

He has 17 years' experience in labor, social security, pensions, privacy and HR income tax matters. With broad experience in both individual and collective dismissals, he has developed a strong practice of advising on the dismissal of top executives. He advises on transfers of undertaking, the social aspects of major reorganisations, trade secrets and privacy issues including on Byod, whistle-blowing, monitoring, pre-employment checks, GDPR etc. He also focuses on social and tax aspects of comp & ben matters such as share related, stock-option and bonus schemes, self-employment and management companies, present and deferred compensation structures, split salaries, secondments and international mobility issues.

Christophe is ranked by Chambers since 2012 : 2017 (Band 4) : “Sources regard him as "solution-oriented and responsive," with clients further appreciating that "he has a lot of experience, so he can give you real-life cases and use them as background to give you advice."

Before joining DKW, he build up from scratch the Brussels employment team of the international lawfirm Bird & Bird since 2009 and headed the team until 31 December 2017. Under his lead the team expanded from one lawyer to 5 and got ranked by Legal 500 and nominated by HR Excellence. 

Earlier on, Christophe started his career as a tax consultant at Deloitte & Touche and worked as a lawyer specialising in employment law within the Brussels offices of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (5.5 years) and Loyens & Loeff (3.5 years).

Since 2010, he has been a supplemental judge at the labour tribunal in Brussels. 

Christophe was admitted to the Brussels Bar in 2001 and the Luxemburg Bar in 2015. Christophe regularly speaks at seminars and conferences; he has also written for a number of legal publications including a book on stock options.

Christophe speaks French, Dutch and English.
