Loyens & Loeff’s Real Estate practice congratulates Lien Bellinck with her appointment as Counsel

Lien Bellinck has been appointed as Counsel at Loyens & Loeff in Belgium with effect from 1 January 2022. Lien has been attorney at law at the Brussels Bar since 2010 and has been working with Loyens & Loeff since 2016.

As a member of the Real Estate practice group in our Brussels office, Lien developed extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of private real estate law. The scope of her work ranges from advice to litigation, including negotiations and the drafting of legal documentation. Lien is frequently involved in real estate transactions (both asset and share deals) and development projects, managing the deals from the initial offer to closing.

Lien has developed particular experience in property law, with a focus on complex rights in rem structures. The past year, she focused on the important reform of property law in Belgium that entered into force on 1 September 2021 and the main changes of the reform with regard to the usufruct right, the long-term lease right and the right to build in commercial real estate transactions. Together with Ariane Brohez, Lien authored the book on the reform of property law (in Dutch) "Vruchtgebruik, erfpacht en opstal onder het nieuwe goederenrecht" published by Wolters Kluwer Belgium Legal.
