Linklaters appoints two new partners and three new counsel strengthening its capabilities in Belgium
Linklaters has announced the election of 35 new partners drawn from 15 jurisdictions and 11 practice areas and 41 new counsel across 14 jurisdictions and 13 practice areas. The promotions take effect from 1 May 2021.
With women making up 40% of the new partner cohort, the firm has this year exceeded its previous global gender target of electing at least 30% new female partners.
Of the 41 counsel, 41% are women.
Linklaters is particularly thrilled to welcome Florence Danis (Dispute Resolution) and An‑Sofie Van Hootegem (Corporate M&A) in Brussels to the global partnership.
Florence has combined contentious, pre-contentious and transactional expertise and handles commercial, criminal, and regulatory matters across a wide range of dispute-related work, with a particular focus on collective redress.
She is an active member of the Diversity & Inclusion Steering Committee in Belgium and champions diversity across the office, with a focus on working mothers.
An-Sofie is an experienced M&A lawyer with a thorough expertise in Private Equity. She represents many national and international private equity houses throughout the various phases of the investment lifecycle. She also specialises in management incentive packages in the context of buy-outs. She advises national and international clients across a wide range of sectors with all aspects of their M&A transactions.
She is also regularly involved in community investment and social impact initiatives.
These appointments demonstrate Linklaters’ further investment in Belgium as a hub for international business and confirm our firm’s strategy to focus and strengthen our global across-the-board expertise. These latest additions also represent our versatility and our breadth of experience which are particularly needed to take up new challenges.
