Janson celebrates its 70th anniversary

In 1950, Belgium’s first lawyers' association was created: Janson Baugniet. With its 4 offices, its approximately 100 lawyers and its 17 practice areas, the firm has never been any more present and dynamic than it is today, enabling it to meet the needs of all clients, be they major, medium-sized or small companies, public authorities or individuals.

The firm holds offices in multiple regions in Belgium, which makes its Dutch-speaking lawyer as well-represented as its French-speaking colleague. Most of its lawyers are partners and senior associates, whose legal practice often is interwoven with academic positions.

Another significant fact is that the proportion of women in the association is around 50%, which adequately reflects the evolution of the legal profession.

What distinguishes both the association and its lawyers, is a great adaptability and flexibility, which is at the very heart of the firm’s ability to have withstood the test of time. There are few structures of similar size in which partners and associates interact as closely as they do and in which associates are put in direct contact with clients to the benefit of the latter.

Being rooted locally, the firm universally connects within a broad international network. Whilst the firm is always keeping its independence towards any national or international structure, the association has maintained the very closest ties with equally highly committed, independent, law firms.

All these elements combined enable the firm to continue to offer practical, creative, and high-quality solutions at competitive rates, whether in advisory, arbitration or procedural matters.

70 years after its creation, Janson Baugniet becomes Janson, emphasising efficiency and pragmatism. On the occasion of this anniversary, the firm's website has been modernised and redesigned, reflecting even better the firm's dynamism and continuous drive.

Janson is resolutely looking to the future, helping its clients to thrive.
