LMBD strengthens its litigation practice

LMBD is proud to announce that Bruno Maes, lawyer at the Belgian Supreme Court, and his team, joined the firm as from March 2, 2020.

Bruno is a reputed litigator and former Dean of the Supreme Court Bar. He also teaches judicial law at the Free University of Brussels (VUB) and is the author of numerous reputed scientific publications in the judicial law field. 

LMBD is excited about this move, which significantly strengthens its litigation department. The extensive know-how of Bruno and his team of first tier litigators will be at the service of all LMBD’s existing activities and clients.

The members of the team joining Bruno at LMBD are Beatrice Verlooy, Ingeborg De Herdt and Catherine Idomon.

Bruno has been a lawyer at the “Supreme Court/Court of Cassation” since 2000 and heads the “Supreme Court/Cassation” practice group. He specialises in advising on the success of Supreme Court/Cassation appeals in civil matters in the broad sense, criminal cases, disciplinary cases, social affairs and tax matters, and in drafting and filing applications for cassation, memoranda of reply and memoranda in support of Supreme Court/Cassation appeals in criminal cases.

Beatrice works with Bruno on Supreme Court/Cassation cases in the fields of civil law, social law and commercial law. Ingeborg is specialised in liability and insurance law and in Supreme Court/Cassation proceedings. Catherine also works in Supreme Court/Cassation proceedings, mostly in matters of civil and criminial law.
