Associate Baker & McKenzie wins VPG moot court

Younes Sebbarh has won the first prize at the VPG Pleitwedstrijd 2019 which took place at the Brussels' Universitaire Stichting on 26 February 2019.

During this pleading competition, 16 candidates of several reputable law firms presented their arguments before a jury composed of Mr. Luc Vanaverbeke (President of the Traineeship Commission),  Ms. Saskia Kerkhofs (Member of the Council of the Brussels' Bar) and Mr. Jan Donkers (Representative of Brussels' Bar Trainee Lawyers).

The candidates were judged on the structure of the pleadings, the clarity of the presentation, the fluency of the language and the correctness of the legal analysis.

The winner, Younes Sebbarh, will now defend the honour of the Brussels Bar at the 'Internationale Pleitwedstrijd der Zuidelijke Nederlanden', held on 5 April 2019 in Breda (the Netherlands).

Younes is corporate lawyer at the international law firm Baker McKenzie, where he primarily concentrates on listed companies, mergers & acquisitions and equity capital markets transactions.

He was admitted to the Brussels Bar after obtaining law degrees from the University of Leuven, the University of Louvain-la-Neuve and the University of Hasselt.

At the moment, Younes is also nominated for the price "Lawyer of the year" in the context of the Diwan Awards 2019. You can vote for him until the 25th of March 2019 at the following website: Diwan Awards.
