Hogan Lovells welcomes a new partner in Brussels

Salomé Cisnal de Ugarte will be joining the Brussels office of Hogan Lovells in August as a partner in the firm's global antitrust practice.

A member of the Brussels and Madrid bars, Salomé's practice includes all aspects of EU competition law, including complex merger transactions, licensing and distribution agreements, antitrust investigations and compliance, and State aid. She defends clients' interests before the European Commission and national competition authorities, as well as in the European Courts in Luxembourg. She has worked across a broad range of sectors, but has a particular focus and expertise in consumer goods and financial services.

Suyong Kim, global head of antitrust, competition and economic regulation, said: "We are delighted to welcome Salomé to our antitrust team in Brussels. She is a dynamic, internationally-minded, multilingual antitrust lawyer whose practice and experience will complement the existing specializations of our highly-regarded Brussels team. Her addition will enable us to continue growing our competition law practice in Brussels and globally."

Salomé Cisnal de Ugarte said: "I am thrilled to join Hogan Lovells' market-leading global antitrust practice. The firm has a truly global footprint, which will allow me to optimally serve my clients, especially in multijurisdictional transactions and cross-border investigations. I am excited to be part of the continued expansion of the Brussels office and very much look forward to working with an outstanding group of colleagues."

Salomé joins Hogan Lovells from Crowell & Moring LLP, where she was a partner. She is the President of the Harvard Club of Belgium, a member of the global board of the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA) and a Vice-President of AmCham EU. Salomé graduated in law and economics from the University of Deusto and holds an LLM from Harvard Law School and a Ph.D. from the European University Institute (EUI).
