Finance lawyer Lien Delvoye appointed counsel in Brussels

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has appointed Brussels-based lawyer Lien Delvoye to the role of counsel in its finance practice.

Lien Delvoye joined Freshfields in the capacity of principal associate in April 2015 with extensive experience in the field of banking and finance transactions. She continued to grow her skillset and is now advising clients, borrowers and lenders in a variety of transactions including acquisition and leveraged finance, project finance, multi-jurisdictional syndicated lending transactions, asset based finance and debt restructuring. Her expertise has developed across numerous industries such as banks and private equity, general industries, chemicals, infrastructure, media and healthcare.

Lien recently orchestrated the financing of acquisitions such as t-groep, Novy, Epco and CID Lines. She advised on further large-scale financing transactions for various clients including Recticel, Euroports and Etex, as well as on various debt capital markets transactions namely for Tessenderlo and Sarens. Lien also endorsed a major role in last month’s Greenyard’s €500 million secured refinancing of its existing high yield notes, term loans and revolving loans. This refinancing consisted in an issue of convertible bonds for €125 million, a €375 million secured syndicated bank financing and the securing of Greenyard’s existing retail bonds.

Lien graduated in 2006 from the universities of Leuven and Paris (Sorbonne) and is qualified as a member of the Brussels Bar, prior to joining another international law firm in Brussels. She speaks Dutch, French and English and is referred to as an "excellent financing lawyer" by the last edition of Chambers Europe legal directory.
