Claeys & Engels appoints new Counsel

Claeys & Engels is pleased to announce that as of 1 January 2017, Ward Bouciqué has become counsel within Claeys & Engels.

On a daily basis Ward renders legal and strategic advice to employers with regard to all aspects of individual and collective employment/labour law. Ward has specific interest and knowledge in topics such as restructuring, employment contracts, hiring, policies, redundancies, false self-employment, protected workers, social elections and transfer of undertaking (TUPE).

Ward is also a regular speaker at seminars with regard to those topics and publishes both in legal reviews and HR magazines.

Besides the daily advisory work, Ward has specialised in litigations assisting his clients with law suits filed by former employees. Therefore he frequently acts before the Belgian jurisdictions.

Ward worked during three months in New York with the US partner of the international alliance Ius Laboris, of which Claeys & Engels is part of.

Ward graduated cum laude as Master of Law at the K.U. Leuven in 2004. In 2005, he obtained a special degree in employment and labour law at the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
