Bastiaan Bruyndonckx named partner at lydian to grow ICT practice

Independent business law firm Lydian, a leader in Belgian legal services, is pleased to announce that Bastiaan Bruyndonckx will be joining the firm as partner beginning 3 October. An expert in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) law, Bastiaan Bruyndonckx will focus on growing the firm’s practice in this field. With his addition to the firm, Lydian further strengthens its position as a full-service firm with experienced lawyers covering all business law practices and industry sectors.

Specialized in ICT law, Bastiaan Bruyndonckx has decades of experience and a particular focus on five topics: outsourcing, IT and technology contracts, e-commerce, e-communications, and information governance including data protection. Bastiaan also has a significant experience in advising on complex technology-driven agreements in a broad range of sectors including chemicals, energy and manufacturing.

Peter De Ryck, Managing Partner: “We are extremely happy that we have been able to attract such a well-known expert in ICT. With the addition of Bastiaan Bruyndonckx to the Lydian team, the firm further strengthens its offering and full-service approach covering all business law practices”.

Bastiaan Bruyndonckx joins Lydian following 22 years at Linklaters LLP in Brussels, where he worked in the Technology, Media, & Telecommunications practice. He is an avid contributor to specialized legal reviews such as Privacy & Informatie (Privacy & Information), DataGuidance, and Computerrecht (Computer Law).

Bastiaan Bruyndonckx: “ICT is now seen as a business innovator rather than enabler. With the adoption of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Cybersecurity Directive, legal counsel are faced with a host of complex issues”.
