Alcogroup specializes in the global production, distribution and trading of a wide range of ethanol grades for biofuel, food and industry applications. 

Alcogroup has a global presence. For its headquarters in Brussels, Alcogroup is looking for a Legal Counsel to further strengthen its activities.

Your function will be all-rounded. You will work closely together with the other members of the legal team, taking care of any legal issue arising at the group level.

Contracts

Draft/review contracts for the purchase/sale of biofuel, industrial ethanol and other co-products Draft/review any other type of contracts (commercial distribution, agency, consultancy), JV, SPA, NDA, MoU/LOI, frame agreements for transport/storage, financial/credit agreements, lease/concession agreement, etc.)

Compliance

Monitor as per compliance program with regards to competition law, anti-bribery, GDPR etc

Support the operational departments and ensure the compliance of their working methods and tools

Other responsibilities

Follow up of any specific projects (due diligence, negotiation and draft/review of joint ventures, acquisitions, sale, restructuration etc.)

Follow up of any claims and any arising dispute Review the positions of the professional associations in the sector Review the corporate secretary documentation for the Belgian subsidiaries Constitution, merger, liquidation of companies, modification of companies’ bylaws Follow up of trademarks and logos

  • You hold a Master in Law
  • You have 3 to 5 years of broad experience at the bar or in a (similar) in-house position
  • You have a very broad legal experience, including drafting of commercial contracts (must), competition law (asset) and/or litigation (asset)
  • You are fluent in English and you have a good command of French and Dutch
  • You can manage your files autonomously
  • You are flexiblestress resistant, you can manage your priorities and are well organized
  • You have a strong team spirit
  • You have a good common sense and can propose hands on solutions
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint and Outlook
