These attributes have built a dynamic and highly respected in-house legal organization within one of the biggest IT companies in the world. The business clients trust the legal team to act as agents for positive change and to conduct business with transparency and integrity.

Cisco is looking for an entrepreneurial and sophisticated Legal Counsel (m/f) to join its EMEAR Legal team supporting Cisco's business mainly in France and Germany but also acting as support to other EMEAR countries such as MEA.

As a Legal Counsel, your responsibilities include:

  • Act as a trusted legal advisor to the business.

  • Give accurate, timely advice to country management team, sales leadership and other functions on the provisions of specific agreements as well as on legal issues that might impact the business.

  • Draft, negotiate and process all types of contracts and other legal agreements entered into by Cisco (including direct sales agreements, systems integrator agreements, outsourcing agreements, software (sub)licenses, NDA’s, RFP’s/RFIs, dispute settlements,…)

  • Participate in other projects as a legal subject matter expert.

  • Assure conformity and consistency in the application of Cisco legal and business policies and practices and help embed Cisco legal policy within business in order to minimize concerns.

  • Educate and coach colleagues in order to transfer key legal knowledge and approach across the (sales) team.

You are a Master in Law with 3 to 6 years of experience in general commercial, contract and business law, obtained at a top law firm practice (representing large multinational corporations) or in multinational corporate legal department.

You have experience with IT law and related contract issues including intellectual property, software licensing, data protection and security. Ideally, you have working knowledge of competition and antitrust law.

You have excellent written and verbal skills in English, French and German. Knowledge of Arabic will be considered a plus.

You have experience with negotiating (complex) business transactions. Ideally you have experience contracting with state-run entities.

You have a keen interest in technology (hardware, software, Saas, cloud as well as associated services).

You are motivated, and you have a ‘can do’ mentality, focused on how to get things done rather than how not to.

You are self-reliant able to work within a large team.

You have a highly commercial approach and you thrive in a sales environment, work according to the commercial pressures of a sales business.

You are flexible, able to work and advise in a fast-paced environment and on ambiguous and dynamic situations.

This is your opportunity to work in a dynamic in-house legal department that is using technology to transform both its own legal department and how law is practiced around the world.

At Cisco, you will be part of a broad network of individuals collaborating in a flexible, fast moving and informal environment, stimulating personal development and growth.

The position offers real career opportunities.

In addition, successful candidates can count on an attractive and competitive salary in accordance with their education, experience and skills, combined with extra-legal benefits.
