Compliance, AML & Data Protection Advisor - Brussels

AG Insurance is a Belgian insurer that markets both life and non-life insurance. It is the market leader in life insurance and employee benefits and the second largest insurer in non-life insurance.

The Business Development Life Insurance department is responsible for all business activities and market development in the life insurance sector for all distribution channels. The Compliance, AML & Data Protection Life Insurance unit is responsible for the anti-money laundering and data protection policy (GDPR) for all products and services under the responsibility of the Bank Channel Management and Life Insurance Development. On the other hand, the unit acts as a decentralised "compliance" contact point for the Central Compliance Office for the same products and services.

As a legal advisor, you will be part of the Compliance, AML & Data Protection Life team, consisting of experienced legal professionals within the Life business line. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

• You analyse relevant legal developments in AML and Data Protection in order to advise the management in assessing their impact on the Life business
   
• You provide legal support in AML and Data Protection by answering concrete questions and/or by taking and defending positions in concrete files
   
• You participate in the preparation of the quarterly compliance report by collecting, analysing and reporting on relevant elements and ensuring their follow-up until their implementation
   
• You carry out control activities on certain aspects of the Life business such as duty of care, AML and taxation, as well as on the subjects chosen each year by the Compliance Office

• You hold a master’s degree in law
   
• You have a first relevant experience, preferably in AML
   
• You have excellent analytical skills and you find a creative and pragmatic solution in an independent and organised manner
   
• You have integrity, keep a cool head and dare to go against the grain
   
• You are able to assess risks adequately
   
• You are dynamic and pragmatic
   
• You are a team player and are willing to work independently
   
• You are fluent in French or Dutch and have a passive knowledge of English
