What your future may hold

As Legal & Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting Astara Western Europe and the broader Astara Group in all legal matters, acting as the go-to legal expert within the organisation. Reporting both locally and to the Chief Legal Officer of the holding company, Astara, you will:

  • Provide proactive legal advice to the business across a broad range of topics in an international setting
  • Draft, negotiate, and review commercial contracts such as service agreements, sales and purchase agreements, financial contracts, general terms and intra-group agreements (loan agreements, transfer pricing agreements)
  • Stay on top of new laws and regulations, including block exemption developments, and assess their impact on business operations
  • Handle compliance and GDPR-related matters
  • Assist in corporate housekeeping and ensure timely fulfillment of legal and financial obligations for Astara Western Europe and its affiliates
  • Manage and develop the legal database, templates, and contract management systems
  • Coordinate and manage litigations in collaboration with external counsel
  • Select, instruct, and supervise local law firms
  • Promote legal awareness and ensure teams understand their contractual responsibilities and the commercial impact of their actions

Your skillset

  • Master’s degree in Law
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
  • A minimum of 8 years of professional experience, gained in an internationally oriented law firm or in-house in a multinational company, preferably in a similar industry
  • Solid expertise in contract law and commercial legal advisory
  • Strong communicator with commercial awareness and a pragmatic mindset
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural environment and open to occasional travel within Europe
