For our client, Securitas, we are looking for a DPO / Legal Counsel with a few years of experience. Dutch or French native speaker, with good knowledge of the other language and good command of English.

Tasks

As DPO / Legal Counsel, you will work closely with the Legal & Risk Director and provide quality legal support. More specifically, you will:

  • monitor and implement legislation related to Securitas' activities and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and contractual obligations
  • follow up data privacy regulations
  • handle legal complaints
  • support the different Group companies in Belgium and Luxembourg and provide internal training
  • follow and draft various types of contracts such as customer and public procurement contracts
  • manage legal risks and contribute to minimising the risks for Securitas' clients

You will focus on legal issues, as an Information Security Manager is already in charge of the technical aspects. Initially, a large part of your work will involve GDPR compliance, data mapping, policy review, etc. Once you have mastered this, your scope will go beyond data protection: you will interact with customers and suppliers, negotiate contracts and so on.

Profile

  • You hold a Master’s degree in law
  • You are familiar with data protection and have a few years of experience, preferably as a DPO
  • You enjoy operational work such as risk analysis, contacting people, documenting, conducting assessments, etc.
  • You are pragmatic, organisationally strong and know how to set priorities
  • You have excellent analytical and synthesis skills
  • You are persuasive and maintain a good relationship with your colleagues and other departments
  • You are a native Dutch or French speaker and have a good knowledge of the other national language. You also have a good command of English, making you comfortable in a European context
