To reinforce its legal department, our client is looking for a Legal Counsel.
Functie :
The aim of the function is to initiate and follow up all necessary legal actions and procedures to protect the company proactively and reactively in legal matters.
You will work in a small team and will report to the Director of the Legal Department.
You will support the departments by providing legal advice relating to commercial contracts (real estate agreements, consultancy agreements, purchase agreements, service contracts…) and relating to environmental law (e.g. noise pollution, environmental impact reports, soil pollution…) and public law (e.g. public procurement).
It is your responsibility to pro-actively detect legal risks within the various departments of the company and to actively cooperate in business projects from a legal point of view.
Furthermore, you will follow up all litigation within your areas of expertise.
Gezocht profiel :
You have a Belgian master degree in Law.
You have minimum 7 years of relevant experience, (partly) within a business environment.
Experience with environmental law is a plus. In any case, you are willing to build up such experience to advice the company in environmental issues in close collaboration with the in-house experts of the environmental department.
You appreciate a highly complex legal environment, where you are asked to work out creative and pragmatic solutions.
You are able to convince and have excellent communication and negotiation skills.
You are business oriented, hands on and flexible.
You show independency, eagerness and professionalism in the organisation and execution of your work.
You are fluent in Dutch, French and English.
