Based in Genval (next to Brussels), IMPS is the worldwide licensor of the Smurfs. IMPS is in charge of the exploitation and protection of the intellectual property rights in the Smurf characters and brands created by PEYO. IMPS offers a full licensing program with 6 complementary activities : Book Publishing, Broadcasting, Music, Merchandising, Promotions and Events.
With the worldwide release of the Smurfs Movie in August 2011, IMPS is urgently seeking a junior lawyer to strengthen its Legal team.
Location: Genval walking distance to the railway station.
Functie :
You will be part of the Legal team. Your main responsibilities will include:
- drafting and reviewing local and international licensing agreements for the use of the Smurfs characters and brands (mainly merchandising and promotions agreements);
- assisting the Business and Legal team in reviewing and negotiating license proposals;
- supporting our Approval team in following up on the approvals of sample products before production;
- performing various day-to-day administrative tasks management.
Gezocht profiel :
- You hold a law degree;
- You are freshly graduated or you have already a first experience in drafting contracts and/or in intellectual property matters;
- You are fluent in English and have knowledge of French and/or Dutch. All other languages are considered as a plus;
- You have a strong interest for intellectual property and for the licensing and entertainment industry;
- You are proactive and are a team player;
