DLA Piper named as global IP law firm of the year

DLA Piper's Intellectual Property and Technology team has received international recognition for its work this week, after being named as Global Firm of the Year at the Managing Intellectual Property ('Managing IP') Awards, and Best Law Firm in IP, IT and TMT at the Belgian Trends Legal Awards.

The Managing IP Awards, held last night (19th March) at the Dorchester Hotel in London, aims to recognise outstanding IP work over the last 12 months, with winners being chosen by Managing IP's team of editors and researchers, based on research for the world IP survey, a review of market developments and client feedback.

DLA Piper was shortlisted in four categories: China IP Transactional Work (Foreign Law Firm) of the Year, Europe Patent Firm of the Year, European Copyright Firm of the Year, and Global Firm of the Year.

The accolade from the Trends Legal Awards was received by DLA Piper on 18th March, and celebrated the Intellectual Property and Technology practice as being a market leader in technology matters. The jury praised DLA Piper for its extensive experience and multidisciplinary expertise and global approach.

Stéphane Lemarchand, Global Co-Chair of DLA Piper's Intellectual Property and Technology group said: "I am delighted that the group has been so highly commended by two separate institutions in just two days. This is an exemplary achievement, and testament to the experience and the work of the practice globally."
